It started to turn around a couple of years ago, beginning with an event that happened at work with my boss. Despite the fact that I had given eight years of loyal service to my boss (and her boss, the company treasurer), she came into my office one day slinging insults at me just for doing my job!

Regardless of whether those insults were justified (believe me they weren’t), what was immediately clear was that no matter how hard you work or how many skills you have or what your value is to the organization, you are only one boss blow up away from being potentially out of a job. Today I have a great boss that values my contribution to the organization and isn’t prone to blow ups however no job, no industry, no income stream is ever safe. That lesson should hit home to a lot of people today.

I Had to Find a New Way to Get More Income Out of My Talents!

I was pissed. I was angry. I was scared. I knew I had way better skills than I was being paid to use, so I made a commitment to myself to find new ways to use my talents to make money. I decided to take another crack at making money online. Needless to say I hadn’t a clue as to what really worked in terms of getting traffic, monetizing pages, writing copy, or any of the skills that actually matter in web marketing.

I needed to find one of these street-smart people and cozy up to them and start learning.
